Over the last couple of weeks, some Samsung devices with AMOLED displays have been exhibiting Pink/Green lines on their screen. Some units got these lines after updating to new software. Others have gotten these lines on the screen despite any physical damage. Luckily, Samsung has started a repair program offering free display repairs for affected devices. If you are in India.
Samsung Responds
Samsung India has confirmed that it will offer free screen replacements to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra units that have been affected by the green/pink line issue. This was confirmed via Yash Rathore on Twitter through the conversation with Samsung India Technical Support.
They also said that alongside the Screen Replacement, they also replaced the Battery as well. There are terms and conditions that need to apply to you to get this free screen replacement. The eligible unit must be affected by a green/pink/purple line or screen flicker, and it must be purchased within three years from the date of replacement. Samsung India also noted that the offer is valid until September 30, 2023.
It’s nice to see Samsung taking action, as users affected by the screen issues are not at fault. Samsung should announce a similar screen replacement offer for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 in other countries soon. But it is unknown whether the company will expand this offer to other Galaxy phones that are affected by the same issue.
