Google has implemented a new UI for Assistant on Android Auto that shows up during voice interactions, which noticeably resembles Apple’s Siri.
Lately, Google updated Android Auto with a new UI for Assistant. Different from the UI that appears at the bottom of the screen, which is available for initial commands. More willingly, this new UI appears when Google Assistant is waiting for you to reply.
In the screenshot below, 9to5google asked Google Assistant to find a nearby post office, and the new UI appeared when the Assistant asked for which location they wanted to navigate to. It reacts when the Assistant speaks and during their reply, and then goes away when the reply is processed.
It is a nice design, but it’s repetitive when they could’ve just used the bottom bar.
