With the official release of IOS 18 being soon this September, the beta version of IOS 18 is receiving its final updates, which will most probably be performance updates and bug fixes, which gives us a good idea of the biggest changes to IOS 18, so what are they?
IOS 18 UI Changes
With the introduction of the IOS 18 beta, we’ve seen plenty of new customization features to the UI, one of the most noticeable changes being the ability to switch your apps between light and dark mode to match your phone theme and your preferred aesthetic. Not only can you change your icons according to your theme, but you can also change them independently while keeping light mode for the rest of your phone.
Apple also introduced changes to the Phone’s Control Center according to the functions and apps you want on the page by searching for the controls in the search bar, or you can scroll through the different controls and add them to the age through the + icon, and best of all, it is no longer limited and you can add shortcuts even after the page is filled cause it will automatically add it to the next page.
You can also resize and rearrange the functions for easier access, or just because you find it more aesthetically pleasing, it’s your phone after all.
IOS 18.1 and Apple Intelligence
Apple also recently released the beta for IOS 18.1 with Apple intelligence features for developers to test new features such as Writing Tools that can proofread your text, rewrite it until the wording is just right, and summarize selected text with a tap.
Priority notifications, which appear at the top of the stack, to have you pay attention to them, and also summarised notifications for faster reading, they also added the same features to messaging and email.
Reduce Interruptions, an all-new Focus that understands your notifications and shows you the ones that might need immediate attention, such as “a text about picking up your child from daycare later today” according to Apple.
Finally, Smart Reply, creates email drafts for you within seconds.
IOS 18 and IOS 18.1 seem like interesting updates, and we can’t wait to see the official release of it, until then though, Stay updated here at Tech Exposed, and if you want, Buy us a coffee!
