Google just announced the release of its brand new Google Pixel 9 series, which includes a plethora of changes, with the new Pixel Pro XL model, and the highly anticipated new Pixel Fold 9 model, so let’s see what’s new.
The Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro
In recent videos, Google revealed what the Pixel 9 Pro would look like, and even teased Gemini, becoming a big part of the Google Pixel experience.
So far, as seen in the video, the phone looks great and has a new modern design to it, with a clean finish, which shows a lot of change from the previous models, which looked more bubbly and vibrant.
As shown in the teaser, we see the AI assistant Gemini displayed, and later on, we see the message “Oh Hi, Google AI” which means that Gemini should play a huge role in the upcoming AI updates, and should be expected to get new upgrades to it soon.
As for the specs changes, the Pixel 9 is rumored to come with a 6.1″ 120Hz OLED display, alongside the new Tensor G4 chip, and a new dual camera setup, with 8Gbs of memory.
As for the Pixel 9 Pro, it’s rumored to have a 6.5″ 120Hz OLED display, and of course with the Tensor G4 chip, a triple camera setup, and 8Gbs of memory as well
However, for now, none of those specs are confirmed yet, and we’ll be sure to keep updating them, until the final release, where we’ll cover the 2024 Google event, but for now, we’ll have to wait and see on the 18th of August, 2024.
New Additions
For this event, Google also decided to bring out some of its newest additions to the series, with the Pixel Fold 9, and the first of its kind, the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
As we can see in the Launch teaser, once again Google show off Gemini, with the same “Oh hi, AI” messages as before, which further confirms our speculations about it getting a huge update, and becoming a huge part of the new experience.
And now as for the 2 biggest new releases, we get a brand new addition to the Google Fold series, which judging by the currently available sources is gonna be a huge change from the previous generation, with a new porcelain finish, and finally, a taller, more narrow look to it, with the cover screen getting a huge upgrade in size, from 5.8″ to 6.4″, and finally a full rework on the camera setup, switching out from the classic camera bar, and moving into a more squarish model on the top right corner of the device.
As for the Pixel 9 XL what we know so far is that it’s essentially the same as the Pixel 9 Pro except slightly taller, so we speculate that Google is finally adopting the “plus” models we see with Samsung and Apple, and so far it is expected to have a 6.5″ 120Hz display which is not confirmed yet and is probably inaccurate since it wouldn’t make sense for a Plus model to be smaller than the previous Pro model; however, all we can do for now is just wait and see how it’ll turn out. it is also rumoured to have up to 16Gbs of memory, and a new modem, which should show us higher cellular data speeds, and a faster 5g connection.
So far the event looks very promising, and the new devices look great, we’ll be sure to inform you incase there are any updates, but for now, stay tuned for more here at Techexposed.co!
